I love this! Thank you for writing it! I am currently in my 8th year of school almost done with my Masters. It’s been a long road, but totally worth it. In addition to still being in school, my husband is as well, and we have had some major financial set backs that we worked so hard to achieve and are have to redo it all over again after he got laid off last year in the oilfield. I know if we keep pushing forward, we will one day see the light, but it seems very dim most days. Thanks again!

I love this. Especially making sure to do it for you and not someone else. I’ve done things other people wanted, and my heart just wasn’t into it. You are so much more productive when it’s something you really want.

Love these ideas. It’s so important for us to affirm ourselves because sometimes it’s strangers supporting you and you’re own family or friends questioning you goals.

  9. Divyanka says:

The article is really beautiful. The point where you explained that following your dream is very important. Anyone can’t really feel the happiness if they are following someone else’s dreams.

    1. To have true passion, you will have to do things that you love not someone. Thanks. I am glad you like the post.

I just had a discussion with a co-worker about this a few days ago. Sometimes the mistakes we make, because we can learn from them, are more valuable than the things we do right. I love your last point the most though – sometimes I totally forget to stand back and remind myself why I’m “doing this” (whatever the “this” of the moment is) when I get so caught up in the frustration of the process that I forget the goal. Great, thoughtful post!

    1. Thank you. I am glad you liked it.

I actually did feel this way.I haven’t realized what I want out of life and even though self discovery is a continuous ongoing process I still don’t know what my goals are yet and I am exploring and figuring it out. This post has given me the warmth and compassion I needed,I felt like someone was urging me to get up continue even though it was virtual.

  21. Deanna says:

This is a great post! Great words of wisdom. Many times we fall into this have to do it instead of wanting to do it. The hard work is worth it all in the end when it is your dream 🙂

  22. I tend to forget my accomplishments along the way so that is probably my favorite tip. Once I remember them I realize how far I’ve come!

  23. This is perfect, and I just may print it out and hang it in my office! It can be so tempting to give up sometimes. Thanks for the encouragement here!

  25. Perla says:

When I was younger I used to be a fighter and I’d go miles to accomplish my goals. As I get older I come to accept that some dreams are not meant to come true and is better to save time and energy for more realistic dreams.

  26. You’re just the motivation I needed. I’ve been struggling with getting something off of the ground and I’m going to stick with it and put more into it too.

  33. Mykia Redd says:

This post was exactly what I needed to hear. I am a Junior in college right now and I am starting to second guess if my major is really for me. I really love psychology and I love learning about it, but since it is such a broad field and you can do almost anything with it makes the idea of finding a job a little intimidating. This article was the little bit of fresh air that I needed so I can take the time to really think about what I want to do.

    1. I love psychology too. A lot of times we sike ourselves out by second guessing ourselves. Do what is in your heart and you will be surprised about all you can accomplish.

  34. Alina Marcu says:

    Love it!!!
No matter what, we should never forget the reason for why we started at all..
Why give up on something we wanted so much when we finally have it?!
    Bless you!
