I can really relate to fear holding my back. There’s always this little voice telling not to do it. Letting the fear go is so important. Believing in yourself is hard sometimes. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. Thank you, Patricia. Believing that we are stronger than our fears will help you grow in so many ways.

  4. Crisly says:

Leave the past to past, live at the present, and prepare for the future. We all have our past that we still can’t let go up to this day, it is easier said to let go than to really do it, but we also know that holding on to the past will prevent us from living at the present and prepare for our future. It is scary to leave it behind, to let it go, but we have to face the fears. Your blog is indeed a motivation. We would love to publish one of your inspirational entry to our site, get intouch with me if this is something you would be interested in.

    1. Thank you, Crisly, for such an insightful comment. It can be hard to let go of our fears but the growth that we will see in our self will be well worth it. I am honored that you would consider having one of my posts be on your site. I will be in touch.

  5. Thank you for this post! I’ve been dealing with some stuff lately, and this was just the think I needed! 🙂 Don’t know why it’s so hard for us to move past those fears!

    1. Thank you for reading my post. Sometimes moving past our fears can be difficult but it will be beneficial to our personal growth.

Thank you for sharing us this winderful post and thank you for your advice:)

    1. Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your kind words.

  7. A really insightful blog post. I often help out folks who are stuck in the past, and are so scared of making the same mistakes, they cannot see the present or the potential of a future. Experience is there to help us move ahead – I try to use the past to help me see where things went right, and where things need to change. FEAR is one of the biggest hurdles we face – and if we can see the past as a tool, it makes moving forward a bit easier. Thanks for sharing those great tips – BTW, your photos really add to the storyline.

Lovely blog post with helpful words. Thank you!

  9. As a writer, this couldn’t be more true. I pretty have to live one word, one sentence, at a time to work towards where I want to go. There’s no point in living in the past or staying stuck on something. Moving forward is the only way a writing project will get done. Great post!

    1. It is so important to move forward despite your past. You will be better for it.

  10. Mike says:

    Important thoughtful advice, thanks.

  11. Brittany says:

This is so right on! I was just reflecting on this the other day. Leaving things in the past in order to move forward towards greater things. Very well written and said. Appreciate the post! Thanks!

    1. Thank you, Brittany. Our past can be used as a lesson to help make a better future for our selves.

  12. Crystal says:

I am one to try to leave the past in the past, but there are people around me that always bring up the past. It’s not healthy in my opinion. Good read.

    1. You can leave the past in the past but do not let hinder you.

  13. Stephanie says:

This is a great list! I try to follow your idea of focusing on today often. Both with keeping myself not focused on the past, but also in trying to live in the moment with my family.

    1. Let your past stay in the past. Having supportive friends and family is a great way to help you focus on today.

  14. Joline says:

Totally agree! I think we are our worst enemies. We are limited only by the walls we put up around ourselves!

    1. Yes, we are own worst enemy but must also be our own best cheerleader.

  15. Such wise words. The past tells us where we’ve been, but it needn’t tell us where we’re going.

    1. Yes, living in the past will never allow us to grow. Learning from the past will make for a better today.

  16. Can really relate to fear! I use to let it control me but have pushed past it and gotten rid of my limiting beliefs 🙂

    1. I am always pushing myself because I never want to be that person who allowed fear to control me.

  17. Cecilia says:

I agree with you that you have to focus on the present and not on past mistakes and failures. Because I believe that there is no use in crying over spilled milk.

  18. I think we focus too much on our future that we forget to be in the moment and to appreciate how far we’ve come. This is such a nice reminder for people.

    1. When you focus only on the future, you will not be able to really enjoy today. Focusing on today will make for a better future.

  19. Tanya says:

Great article! So often we’re stuck looking in the rear view mirror to figure out how things will turn out for us. But if we’re able to set aside past failures and disappointments and focus on executing our plan, we can create and determine how things will turn out for us.

  20. Very sounds message. This is something I wished I was aware of at a younger age. It is having the skills to move past your fear and understand that it is normal. Being proactive about it helps to conquer it.

    1. I agree, Debbie. It took me many years to learn how to leave my past in the past. Now, I focus on where I am today. I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

  21. Kim says:

This is such an insightful post! I always try to remind myself to focus on today because the past already happened and is done with,

  22. Those are important and good ideas. You have to stay in the present or you won’t be able to do what you need to. It’s all about staying centered.

  23. sonali jain says:

this post is really appropriate and a reminder for me right now as i am loosing my focus. One need to read these kind of things time to time to keep focus on things which really matters : )Thank you so much!

    1. Sometimes we all lose focus but once you start to appreciate where you are now and accept your fears. You will see how truly capable you are.

  28. Dawnmarie says:

This is the kind of thing that I need to read every day. Thank you for the positive words!

  29. Great read! I fear confrontation and it holds me back because instead of dealing with things immediately that I feel uncomfortable with I just procrastinate and they become bigger problems. This has further motivated to stop that and not let it control me and hold me back.

    1. We all have fears. That will never change. When you move forward despite of those fears is what will help you grow.
